Juilliard grad Natalie Haas is one of the most sought after cellists in traditional music today. She and Scottish fiddler Alasdair Fraser have toured as a duo for twenty years, wowing audiences at festivals and concerts worldwide with their unique sound. Natalie has also toured with Mark O'Connor as a member of his Appalachia Waltz Trio. As a studio musician, Natalie has been a guest artist on over 50 albums, including those of Cape Breton fiddler Natalie MacMaster, Irish greats Altan, Solas, and Liz Carroll, and Americana icon Dirk Powell. She is an associate professor at the Berklee College of Music in Boston.
The world at large, and especially musicians, are having a rough time right now...looking at cancelled gigs for the foreseeable future, in addition to our entire livelihood being threatened as what we do (bringing people together) is no longer safe. If and when we overcome this and come out on top, it'll be time to rebuild and rethink -- on the positive side, we will ALWAYS need music. Hopefully by summer, and by that I mean FIDDLE CAMP TIME, we will be ready to gather again and celebrate being human together, with the aid of music and dance to help us process our emotions and rebuild our communities.
Hope to see you then! Will keep the tour page updated as we reschedule this spring's concerts for fall and spring of next year. Also, be on the lookout for some news very soon about online learning opportunities!
Stay safe and healthy out there, Natalie
