A graduate of the Juilliard School, Natalie is currently based in Montreal.

Welcome to my new site!

Happy (almost) spring everyone! Our new CD 'Abundance' is now available to order! You can purchase it online buy clicking on the 'Culburnie Records' logo on the store page.  Also, my first instructional DVD 'Grooves, Backups and Techniques for Celtic Cello' (with special guests Alasdair Fraser and Darol Anger) has just been released! Exciting upcoming new projects include a new album in the works with Alasdair, working on writing some orchestral versions of our tunes for an appearance in April, some collaborations in May with my husband guitarist/singer extraordinaire Yann Falquet in Pennyslvania & New Jersey and with Laura Cortese & The Dance Cards in Denmark, followed by an amazing summer of fiddle camps and concerts!

Hope to see you on the road!

Hi Natalie! I saw you perform in Corvallis, Oregon several years ago and I love your work. You have really inspired my own cello playing and I try to incorporate a lot of Celtic music into my teaching--I teach orchestra grades 4-12 in a small school district. I also wanted you to know that we have a Harry Potter-style orchestra house system in which all of my students grades 4-12 are divided into four houses. I named each house after a contemporary alternative styles string player. The Natalie Haas House is one of them! My kids have seen videos of you and are so amazed and inspired. Would it be possible for you to record a very short video saying hi to the kids? You're awesome! :) Thank you! Talia Grandview Heights, Ohio, Schools talia.turnbull@ghcsd.org

Natalie - I'd been meaning to see you guys for ages - and have known and worked with Emma Nixon for 15 or so years. Utterly stunning to experience playing like that !!!!! - especially in a small room - On the way home my colleague and I decided that - I/we don't play because I/we don't have the ability to ever play like we just experienced you play - and that is the only way I would like to have been a player (don't have the player gene!) - but totally heard what you guys got happening. Absolutely and completely substantial musicianship - to hear, to watch, to breathe. One so often makes the effort to go out - and not really be 'spoken to' so completely. 4 hands, 8 strings, 2 resonating boxes (wee & big), 2 humans - SO much to say!! Magic! Congratulations (words just don't work!) :)

What a great evening, Natalie! Thank you so much for an amazingly energetic evening. You and Alasdair brought me to my feet and to tears so many times during the evening. Your gorgeous sound filled the yellow Merville Hall beautifully and your bowing was inspirational! I'm trying a few new things on my cello tomorrow. Thanks!

Natalie, you inspired me when I saw you at the Moab Music Festival. You have made me rethink what I could be doing on the bass in sessions. Love the CD. Peter

Alloha Nathalie. There is a wee venue in southwest Scotland, "Knockvennie Hall", along the Urr River, where the farm workers would come gather the weekends to dance, back in the day before mechanized farming. Most of these wee halls have long-since disappeared, but Knockvennie Hall is still standing. It would be such an awesome place to get to dance to your music and could be an amazing fund-raiser for its maintenance which is an ongoing process. If you might ever consider playing there when you're in Scotland please let me know and I can put you in touch with the folks who could make it happen. I'd gladly fly the 10,000 miles to catch that show. Cheers the now, and jealous of your perhaps being in Scotland for the "Freedom Come all Ye" vote this 18 September.

Natalie....you changed my life forever!!!! I first saw you last year 2013 in new hampshire and it was then that I decided I would master the cello. I am 60 years old and never played. I hunted for a cello and a magnificent one and also a teacher. I play every day, mostly celtic and classical. My instructor is amazed, as am I and says I have advanced well beyond most of her 3 yr students. It because I love it!!!! And because of you. Thank you so much for this very special gift! Michael
